CO-FOUNDER & GENERAL MANAGER  ·  2015 — 2024

The Operation

A single-artist enterprise scaled to global revenue, major-label-tier deals, and a documented festival circuit — while remaining independent.

I helped co-found Joey Purp LLC and ran it as General Manager for nearly a decade — building a single-artist enterprise into a $10–15M annual revenue operation across publishing, distribution, sponsorship, and global touring.

As GM, I directed a cross-functional team of 8+ — booking, label, publishing, sync, marketing, and creative — with two direct reports. I negotiated and closed a publishing agreement with Sony Music Publishing and a distribution agreement with Caroline, Universal Music's indie arm.

The operation released two critically-recognized albums (iiiDrops, QUARTERTHING), landed two late-night television performances — The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with RZA and Last Call with Carson Daly — and built a global touring footprint across North America and the European festival circuit.

SYNC LICENSING & TALENT ALIGNMENT  ·  FALL 2017  ·  VIA LAIRD & PARTNERS

From Independent Release to Global Fashion Campaign

Placing an independent artist's record into one of the year's largest fashion launches.

I brokered the sync of Joey Purp's "Girls @" into Tommy Hilfiger's Fall 2017 global campaign starring Gigi Hadid — placing an independent artist's record into one of the year's largest fashion launches.

Coordinated through Laird & Partners, the deal required aligning talent rights, creative direction, and brand-side execution across two continents. The result: a top-shelf placement that introduced Joey Purp to a Gen-Z and millennial fashion audience — and demonstrated a model for the culture-first sync work that defines premium brand integration today.

The Brand Partnership Engine

A Decade of Closing

The same methodology applied across television, streaming, automotive, fashion, footwear, and beverage.

Across the Joey Purp LLC decade, I built and operated a brand partnership engine that closed $1.5M+ per year — and $8–10M+ in cumulative value over ten years — against CMOs and VP-level marketing teams at Fortune 500 and culture-defining brands.

I originate, structure, and close deals across television, streaming, automotive, fashion, footwear, and beverage. The work moves from cold relationship-building through contract negotiation and live activation. The methodology is the same regardless of category.

PR SPECIALIST & CAMPAIGN MANAGER  ·  YOUR BEHAVIORAL HEALTH  ·  2024 — PRESENT

The Operator Playbook, Applied

The same originate-relate-structure-activate methodology applied to healthcare communications and clinician positioning.

I lead public relations and integrated campaign management for Your Behavioral Health — a multi-brand behavioral health organization operating Clear Behavioral Health, Neuro Wellness Spa, and New Life House across Los Angeles.

I built and operate a clinician positioning machine that lands behavioral health experts in top-tier publications at the cadence and caliber of a major PR agency. I direct media relations, ghostwrite expert commentary across 30+ clinicians, manage six-figure integrated campaigns spanning paid digital, OOH, earned media, and experiential.

The result is a healthcare communications operation that exceeds CAC and ROI targets in some of Los Angeles' most competitive submarkets — applying entertainment publicity machinery to a regulated, complex category.

Two careers. One craft.

Kevin Zheng Los Angeles, CA

I find the room, build the relationship, and close the deal across entertainment, media, and healthcare.

Kevin Zheng is a brand partnerships and growth operator who has spent the last twelve years originating, structuring, and closing deals at the intersection of culture and category.

As co-founder and General Manager of Joey Purp LLC, he built a single-artist enterprise generating $10–15M annually — closing a Sony Music Publishing agreement and a Caroline distribution deal, brokering brand partnerships with HBO, Netflix, Tommy Hilfiger, Toyota, Spotify, Instagram, and Adidas, and overseeing global touring across North America and the European festival circuit. His sync work placed catalog into Tommy Hilfiger's Gigi Hadid Fall 2017 global campaign, HBO programming, and Netflix series including Easy, Sextuplets, and Dare Me.

Today, Kevin leads public relations and integrated campaign management for Your Behavioral Health, applying the same operator playbook to behavioral health communications — positioning 30+ clinicians in TIME, Forbes, Rolling Stone, HuffPost, and Healthline, and running six-figure campaigns across hyperlocal Los Angeles markets.
